Dr. Tamiko Escalante

OD / Pediatrics / Vision Therapy / Low Vision

It is estimated that up to 50% of the brain cortex is involved in visual processing, which is why Dr. Escalante is passionate about visual health and honored to be part of her patients’ health care team.  Her professional interests include pediatrics, traumatic brain injuries, low vision, and contact lenses.

In 2010, she graduated from Boston University with a B.S. in Business Management. After working several years at an optometry practice, she returned to school and received her Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2021. Her externship training included the Illinois Eye Institute, Salisbury-Kernersville VAMC, Hellerstein & Brenner Vision Therapy Center, and the MyEyeDr-Timberlane. While attending optometry school, she volunteered to provide eye care with the local Lion’s Club and Chicago Public School system. She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, Optometric Physicians of Washington, Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, and National Optometric Association.

Dr. Escalante was born and raised in The Bay Area of California and is excited to explore her new home in the Pacific Northwest. Outside the workplace, she and her husband enjoy spending time hiking, dancing, snuggling with their pets, eating, and watching Warriors basketball.
